Visa Requirements

You must provide your actual signed passport, including one copy of the personal information page of your passport. Your passport must:

  • Be valid for 6 months beyond the length of your requested visa.
  • Contain at least two blank visa pages for the visa stamp (amendments and endorsement pages cannot be used to fulfill this requirement).
  • If requesting multiple entries, the passport must contain at least 2 blank facing visa pages. There can be no stamps or amendment endorsement types on these pages.
  • Not be damaged in any way.

You must provide proof of your current address of residency. The document must either be a copy of the front of your driver's license or government ID, or a utility bill. The document must:

  • Display your name as it appears on your passport
  • Display the current residence address as provided on your visa application

Please note, if you must submit a utility bill the consulate requires electric, gas, or a water bill; phone and cable bills are not accepted. Children applying for Chinese Visas must provide a copy of their birth certificate, along with a copy of each of their parent’s ID’s to determine their state of residence.

You must fill out the following forms:

Where You Stay Form

Travel Records Form

We can complete the form for you at the time of your appointment, but if you’d like to reduce your time spent at our office the full application can be completed digitally online by following this link:

Chinese Visa Application Form

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may need to fill out a "Where You Stay" form or a "Travel Records" form.

While you may not be required to present your travel itinerary to the Embassy/Consulate in some cases, you are still required to provide the dates of entry/exit to China as well as the addresses of the hotels you intend to stay at during the duration of your trip to China.

  • A copy of both parent's IDs
  • A copy of both parent's passports
  • A copy of the minors birth certificate
  • One parent must sign the application and all other documents regarding the visa application on behalf of the minor applicant
  • Only one parent must be present, but all parents listed on an applicant's birth certificate must still provide copies of a passport and ID

If you were born in China or previously held Chinese citizenship:

  • Provide your most recent Chinese passport or a copy of your last Chinese visa.
  • Add your Chinese name in the designated section of the application form.

If you cannot provide a Chinese passport for your first visa application, you’ll need to apply in person at a Chinese consulate or embassy.
